Virginia-Highland neighbors on edge after armed robbery, attack | News
ATLANTA -- Atlanta police are looking for two men who robbed a woman overnight in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood.
It was around 2:30 a.m. when a woman was walking to her car in the 900 block of St. Charles Avenue in northeast Atlanta.
They stole her purse which had her credit cards and her iPhone.
Unfortunately, police and neighbors said the victim wasn't able to get a good look at her attacker's faces. She doesn't know a race or age - only that it was two men.
She did tell police that one of the men might have been wearing a mask but she wasn't sure.
One neighbor said she heard the woman screaming and she immediately called 911. Another man grabbed his handgun and ran outside. He later tracked down a police officer who came to the scene.
This comes at a time when neighbors in the Midtown and Virginia-Highland neighborhoods are on high alert after an increase in crime. Many people said they feel vulnerable.
Police are still investigating but, unfortunately, don't have much to go on.
