Police locate woman who handed note to Wendy's clerk | News
ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Local authorities have confirmed that they have found a woman, Wednesday, who handed a note to a fast food worker saying she was being held against her will.
The woman secretly left the note with the clerk Monday afternoon at the Wendy's at 1940 Piedmont Road, NE, which is near the Monroe Drive exit of I-85. In the note, the woman said she was being held against her will and asked for help.
Then she went back outside and rode off with a man who was driving a pickup truck.
The woman is currently alive and in good health, officials confirmed. They are currently speaking with the woman.
On Tuesday, police said they had located the driver of the pickup truck. Authorities said the man told them that he knew the woman and that he dropped her off in the Virginia-Highland area.
Authorities identified the woman as LaShonda Marie Cortez.
