Fulton County Seeks Nominees for Environmental Awards | Environment
The Fulton County Citizens Commission on the Environment (FCCCE) is seeking nominations of environmental advocates and environmental projects that exemplify environmentally-sound practices to be recognized at its annual Environmental Awards Program on April 18, 2012. All nomination entries must be postmarked by Friday, January 13, 2012.
All submissions will be evaluated in one of the following categories:
- Environmental Advocate - Individual in Fulton County who supports activities that protect the environment and exemplify environmentally sound practices
- Best Development – Development in Fulton County that implements proactive and Innovative best management practices
- Environmental Program – Fulton County programs that focus on environmental awareness and pollution prevention
One award will be presented in the Environmental Advocate, Best Development, and Environmental Program categories. Eligible nominations include individuals or groups working on Development Projects, affiliated with Community Organizations and are Fulton County Residents.
The Fulton County Citizens Commission on the Environment (FCCCE) is a citizen environmental advisory group appointed by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. The purpose of the FCCCE is to investigate environmental concerns; to make recommendations to the Fulton County Board of Commissioners on environmental policies; and to increase public awareness, understanding and involvement concerning environmental issues.
All winners will be notified by March 21, 2012. Award winners may not be selected in every category. Awards will be presented at the FCCCE Environmental Awards Program on April 18, 2012 during the Fulton County Board of Commissioners Meeting.
