Mock Trial Team Wins Invitational High School Mock Trial Championship Tournament | Community Spirit

Twelve students from Henry W. Grady High School represented Grady High School at the Empire City International Invitational High School Mock Trial Championship Tournament. 

This championship, dubbed “The Empire", involved prestigious high school mock trial teams from 30 different schools representing 5 different countries and 18 different states.

Grady’s team entered the competition as a top seed and after four rounds, against accomplished teams from around the world, the Grady Team kept its initial top ranking and seeding -- undefeated and untied, winning 11 of the 12 possible ballots through all preliminary rounds. And due to a tie breaker during the final round, Grady walked away as World Champions. Two team members, Shaun Kleber and Elizabeth McGlamry, won achievement awards.

The Grady High School Mock Trial Team attributes their success to many members of the community like: Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, Jamal Crawford of the Atlanta Hawks, Virgina-Highland/Morningside Parents Association, Grady PTSA, the Atlanta Falcons and California Pizza Kitchen.
