About Us
King and I is a hidden gem that's located in the heart midtown Atlanta, a couple of blocks from Piedmont Park. Doors have been open since 1980, owned and operated by one owner who is known as Auntie. After 32 years, she has decided to give up her beloved restaurant to move back to her home country, Thailand. King and I is the home of a traditional rustic Thai cuisine, where every dish is carefully prepared, seasoned, and cooked. From our antique steamer to our 30 year old mortar and pestle, we still use to this day to create traditional dishes that burst with flavors of Thailand. All of our ingredients are homegrown organic vegetables or from our local farmers market.
Tyson Wong Ophaso, a renowned chef, who's known for his culinary skills, from Iron Chef America to teaching Martha Stewart how to make origami on her show. He always finds the perfect balance of flavor and design to create exquisite dishes. So, if you haven't been to King and I, we invite you to come and taste one of the most authentic Thai restaurants in Atlanta and see for yourself.
